You have a message that could move people. A story that deserves to be told. A book that's been waiting to be written. This is your room. Come on in.

We are a healing-centered, liberation-focused ecosystem for women of color who are ready to reclaim their voice, write their book, and build the movements. At BWP we lead with healing first, writing second, and movement building third. When we are given a protected space to tell our stories in community, outside of perfectionism and the white gaze everything shifts. We exhale and fly.

Poetry readings, keynotes, panels, and more rooted in joy, justice, and truth-telling.
Byrd brings the work to your stage, school, conference, and community with the kind of presence that transforms.

From your first page to your final print. Community writing spaces, 1-on-1 coaching, HERstory reTREATS, comprehensive editing, book cover design, interior design, and distribution.
Full service and support from idea to holding your book in your hards.

Curriculum design, wellness workshops, and transformative residencies for institutions and organizations ready to do things differently.
We bring equity-centered, healing-first frameworks to schools, nonprofits, and businesses who want to do more than check a box.

I grew up on the South Side of Chicago knowing I had something to say and spending years speaking up, shrinking, and then unlearning the things that no longer served me.
I know what it feels like to be in rooms that weren't built for you. To shrink your voice to fit someone else's standard. To carry a story and wonder, quietly, whether anyone would care.
I also know what happens when a woman finally finds a room that was built for her.
I've watched it at 6:30 in the morning — women of color showing up to write before the rest of the world is awake. I've watched them go from "I don't know if I'm a writer" to holding their published book in their hands. I've watched them exhale. Soften. Rise.
That transformation is why I built Byrd's World Publishing. Not because the industry needed another publishing company but because the women I serve needed a home.
I'm Heather 'Byrd', an international award-winning poet, Living Legacy, writing coach, and founder of Byrd's World Publish. Everything I've built here? I built it for you.
Speader of Wings & Dreams
all about our LIBERATION is a podcast for women of color who are finding their way back home to their stories. We give ourselves the permission to write, rest, and (re)MEMBER who we were before the world got its hands on us.
Inspired by the upcoming anthology, all about our LIBERATION: a manifesto for women of color - vol. 1, the podcast extends the conversations to transform on the page and in person. Each episode offers space for reflection and release. You will hear words that honor both the beauty and truth of our becoming.
Whether you are journaling, creating your next manuscript, or making sense of your own life, grab your tea, pull up a chair, and join the conversation.

Creator of Liberation & Possibility
Heather 'Byrd' is the author of the forthcoming anthology, all about our LIBERATION: a manifesto for women of color. Her work has appeared in Trouble the Waters: Tales from the Deep Blue (World Fantasy Award & Locus Award finalist), the Cornell Report's "I See You" issue (International Anthem Award winner), and more. Her words don't just land on the page; they land in the body.

Catalyst of Voice, Story, & Badasseery
You've been meaning to write the book for years. You've sat in writing spaces that handed you a red pen instead of a welcome. You've wondered, quietly, whether your story is good enough. You are an educator, healer, coach, leader, or an expert in your field. I bet you have spent your life holding space for everyone else. You are carrying a story that the world needs if someone would just give you the right room to write it.
That room exists and it was built for you.
"This is the most authentic space I’ve experienced for writing a book. The community holds you while helping your voice come through clearly."
— TEMEKA THOMPSON | AUTHOR OF OBEDIENCE OVER PERFECTION
If you’ve ever felt unworthy, unsure, or unseen… this is a love letter to you.
This book isn't church as usual. It's for the woman who is tired of surface-level sermons and wants a relationship that's real. It's for the daughter who's ready to stop hiding. The daughter who's ready to conquer fear. For the woman who's done shrinking, apologizing, and settling for less than what God promised. For the woman who's done shrinking, apologizing, and settling for less than what God promised.

There are book that entertain, and then there are books that unearth, cleanse, and demand that we reckon with the truth.
Shredding Rugs: A Poetic Cleansing is Grandberry's poetic debut bringing a soul-baring journey of truth, resilience, and rebirth is a call for Black and Brown women to heal, disrupt and build anew from the ashes of what tried to break them.
